Modelling of the working of a pond

Installation

The weather station is installed in the middle of the Thau pond (South of France, township of Marseillan). The power is supplied with a little incorporated solar panel, it's totaly autonomous. It's fitted out with a G.S.M. data module : Everyday, it calls a PC which concentrate the data and build a climatical database.

Composition of the CIMEL meteorological weather station

It's a G.S.M. station fitted out with a directionnal antenna (n°1 on pic) to improve the transmission quality.

It's equiped with the following sensors :

  • A temperature / humidity sensor (n°2 on pic).
  • A pyranometer for the global radiation measurement (n°3 on pic).
  • A wind vane (n°4 on pic) and an anemometer allow to characterize the wind.
  • A ultrasonic waterlevel sensor (n°5 on pic) allow to know with a very good accuracy the level of the pond water.
  • A supplementary temperature for the water temperature.

Scientific interests
  • Creation of an historic database to improve the knowledge of the pond.
  • Working of the pond modelling according to the meteorological parameters.
  • Knowledge and studies of the seasons variations.
  • Modelling of the meteorological data influence on the fishs, the algaes and the plankton.
