Changing the program
Before opening the box, remove the terminal
board . It is necessary for the board to be disconnected
from power supply during the operation.
Release the 4 closing screws shown in
the sketch below . If the case is low and the cover can not
be lifted by hand, push by an amount of 3 mm a nonmetallic
blade in the contact plane of one of the corners and twist
it . Place the cover near the base of the case. ( They are
connector by a ground conductor) and turn it over.
Remove the pins(1)(3),
one by one, by releasing the card(2)(4),
and twisting it(5), IMPORTANT : Disconnect
the battery connector(6).
Remove with an appropriate tool the EPROM memory.
Replace it by the new version. It is important to respect
the direction because fixing the ic in the wrong direction
can damage it. If you face problem in the mounting
operation, do not force the ic! Check the
pins of the EEPROM ic, they must be regularly spaced in
both rows, perfectly aligned and perpendicular to the
plane of the case. After complete mounting, verify
that all the pins are correctly inserted into the holes
and make sure that no leg is folded.
Connect the battery connector in
the correct direction, and immediately check the screen:the
following message must be displayed during 2 seconds.
Reclose the cover by following the inverse order.
Be careful not topinch a cable in the connection!
Tighten the screws 2 by 2 in diagonal and lock.
Rare incidents
If the screen remains off, try to reset by pressing
the corresponding button. If it doesn't work then the problem
is due to one of these reasons:
The new ic is inserted correctly.
The new circuit is damaged.
The battery in undercharged( voltage< 4,9
V )
Verify the direction, the pins insertion, etc. Resume
the mentioned steps from the start- disconnect the battery
again - and eventually insert a new EEPROM ic, especially if
the insertion has been inverted by accident.
If this new attempt doesn't work, put the old program back
. If the problem persists reinsert the terminal board-
without closing the case- and charge ( use the original
battery charger, insert the plug in the fixed connector
labeled PS) or replace the battery.
Important reminder: the charger is not to be connected
when the battery is disconnected.
